Judge a pizza before opening the cover
Last night on my way home, I swung by the little Coop Nära, a small convenience store, around the corner from my place to pick up a bite to eat. My lady is out of town, and I thought a relaxing evening at home with the TV and a beer would be blissful. Boy was I wrong; I went to the wrong store looking for Pizza.
In the past I have been very impressed with the quality of the ICA-brand pizzas. They normally sell for about 15 Crowns ($2) a piece and are a pleasure to eat (they can often be found on sale for as little as 10 Crowns each). So when I went to the competing store in my neighborhood, and saw a Co-op pizza for 19 Crowns ($2.50) and I thought it would taste about the same. Wrong.
My fellow Swedish expats, I can only hope you heed this warning. Coop pizza is like taking a thick cardboard box (the kind used for packing when you move), flattening it out and adding just enough tomato and other extras until everything is a little wet. Nasty!
I feel better now. Thanks for listening.
